Hello everyone,
Here are two freshly finished Stalkers for our upcoming battle report. With them, we are adding two more fully painted units to our Protoss army.
After the Pylon, these are the largest units in our force, and we are especially happy to finally see them join the ranks of our completed miniatures. Their massive silhouette and strong tabletop presence instantly add more character to the army.
Stalkers are particularly powerful units. Their 4 attacks, hitting on 3+ and dealing 2 damage each, make them truly formidable on the battlefield.
The Blink ability also grants them excellent mobility, allowing them to reposition quickly or strike exactly where they are needed. This high level of maneuverability makes them versatile units that are difficult for opponents to predict.
They are especially deadly against vehicles, while still remaining effective against most other targets. It is possible to further upgrade the Stalkers, but doing so quickly increases the unit’s cost. As for us, we already find them extremely efficient in their basic configuration.
We chose to field them as individual units so that each Stalker can fully benefit from its shield, bringing each model up to 9 health points. This setup allows them to stay operational for a long time while forcing the opponent to commit more resources to eliminate them.
Playing them in pairs also offers several advantages: this setup can have a strong psychological impact on your opponent while being more cost-effective in terms of points. On the other hand, it requires more resources to deploy them onto the battlefield.
Both options are therefore perfectly viable depending on your playstyle and overall strategy. A mixed approach can also work very well in a 2000 points format, combining individually fielded Stalkers with a two-model unit in order to benefit from the strengths of both configurations.
