Hello everyone,
Over the years, our collection has grown to include many exceptional miniatures, some of which have had the privilege of being painted by particularly talented painters and hobbyists. Some of these pieces now hold a special place in our collection, even if they are no longer part of our current projects.
Over time, our approach to the hobby has evolved. We now prefer to focus on more specific and, above all, larger projects, with the aim of building and completing entire armies rather than spreading ourselves across too many projects at once.
However, things haven’t always been this way! Over the years, we have started numerous projects that, for various reasons, were never brought to completion. Some were abandoned due to a lack of resources, others were put on hold following the events we previously discussed on our Patreon page, while some simply lost their priority over time.
It is precisely to avoid spreading ourselves too thin that we now try to focus on a few clearly defined projects and see them through to completion. Of course, there is always room for a few exceptions: a particularly interesting new release can sometimes find its way into an army, even when it wasn’t originally part of the plan!
This new approach doesn’t mean, however, that we intend to leave behind all the miniatures from our previous projects. Quite the opposite! Some pieces are well worth keeping and showcasing, if only for the quality of their sculpting or painting. And who knows? They might one day return to the battlefield for a special scenario, a themed game, or simply as part of an occasional project.
That is precisely the case with the miniature we are presenting today: Boss Snikrot, the famous leader of the Blood Axes.
This magnificent miniature was masterfully painted by Marko Miladinović from Craftworldstudio, with whom we have collaborated regularly over the years. The result certainly does justice to the character. Snikrot has several distinctive physical features, such as his large ears, and the paintwork beautifully highlights the many details of the miniature. We were also fortunate enough to own the metal version of this miniature, giving it that little collector’s appeal that we particularly appreciate.
This article will also give us the opportunity to bring you a short painting tutorial on how to paint Ork skin, in collaboration with Craftworldstudio, as well as an Index Xenos article dedicated to the Blood Axes.
