Hello everyone,
We continue to introduce you to our Agents of the Imperium army, and today we are taking a look at Kyria Draxus, Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos. The Kyria Draxus miniature was released in 2020 as part of Psychic Awakening: Pariah, the ninth and final supplement of the Psychic Awakening campaign, which brought the 8th edition of Warhammer 40,000 to a close. This final chapter notably featured the Inquisition and the Necrons in the mysterious Pariah Nexus.
At the time, every new miniature dedicated to the Inquisition immediately caught our attention. The Inquisition had been somewhat neglected over the course of the different editions, so we were quick to pick up Kyria Draxus to add her to our collection.
We were lucky enough to get our hands on a miniature already painted by Lady Midday Studio, allowing us to add this beautiful piece to our collection without having to paint it ourselves.
Although the paint scheme is different from the one painted by Sigur, we acquired this miniature not necessarily with the intention of adding her directly to our army, but rather with the idea of being able to use her in different army lists during themed narrative battles.
Unfortunately, this has not really happened yet, but we would love to see a generic Inquisitor released, or perhaps even a generic Inquisitor for each Ordo, to bring more personality to the faction without having to rely on a named character.
One of the slightly disappointing aspects of the Codex is that it is not really structured and sometimes feels a bit like a “catch-all” for Imperial miniatures released across Games Workshop’s various games.
Now we’ll have to see what this 11th edition has in store for the next Codex!
