Hello everyone,
We continue our previews of AdeptiCon 2026 with a very welcome surprise for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game. At its initial release, we weren’t particularly impressed by some of the miniatures from the film universe: many lacked detail and, in our opinion, did not meet the standard expected from a Games Workshop game.
Fortunately, that time is over! The latest miniatures released for the game are exceptional: finely sculpted, dynamic, and faithful to the world of Middle-earth. There is clearly a strong effort to modernize the game and provide players with models that do justice to the richness of Tolkien’s world. We’re particularly excited to dive into the game in the future alongside these stunning releases.
Highly anticipated after the release of the foot soldiers of Rohan, the Rohan cavalry have finally arrived. It’s a real pleasure to see these miniatures updated: they gain in finesse and detail while maintaining the visual unity of the first version. In our view, they integrate perfectly with the older models, allowing old and new miniatures to be mixed seamlessly without breaking the aesthetic.
Another welcome addition is the plastic command sets for the Rohan soldiers on foot and the Hill Tribesmen. Expanding the plastic range is, in any case, excellent news, offering greater flexibility and more options to complete your units without having to rely on older miniatures.
That wraps up this little reveal, which makes us even more eager to dive into The War of the Rohirrim game. Many of the miniatures from the film have been produced or resculpted, providing freshly detailed models that remain faithful to the universe. This allows players to fully enjoy the game with new miniatures while waiting for future releases, which are still somewhat spaced out for the moment.
