Hello everyone,
The Apostles of Contagion, members of the 4th Plague Company of the Death Guard, specialize in the spread of miasma and contagion. Under the aegis of Necrosius, this warband has surrounded itself with a swarm of Malignant Plaguecasters; it was therefore only natural for us to include several in our army. Having two Dark Imperium box sets at our disposal, we converted the second Malignant Plaguecaster using the stream of vomit taken from the River Trolls kit from The Old World, further enhancing its pestilent appearance. The third Malignant Plaguecaster comes from the Space Marine Heroes box set (2023 edition).
Here, then, is this trio of Malignant Plaguecasters, ready to spread the blessings of the Plague and join the rest of the army.
We are not particularly fond of Aly Morrison’s sculpt of the Malignant Plaguecaster from Dark Imperium. As the miniature is only available on a sprue containing three characters, it seems likely that it may eventually be reworked or released in a more accessible format. Unless, of course, the version currently available through Kill Team ends up being sold separately.
We have now presented almost the entire painted contents of Dark Imperium. All that remains is to reveal the Noxious Blightbringer in our next article, bringing this series dedicated to this iconic box set to a close.
