This is our second article dedicated to Games Workshop’s first 2026 preview. You can find our article on Warhammer 40,000 [here] and the one on Horus Heresy [here].

In this new article, we will be focusing on Age of Sigmar and Blood Bowl. This structure helps better organize our content and makes it easier to read across the different articles, while providing a clear focus on each universe.

Fulfil the bone-tithe

The Ossiarch Bonereapers are particularly well served this edition, with some truly impressive releases. This army, with its very distinctive artistic direction, tends to divide opinion: you either love it or hate it. For players of this faction, alongside the new Battletome, several new units will now be available.

The Liege-Kavalos on War Chariot is a dual kit, also allowing you to build a non-character version which, in our opinion, has incredible presence and charisma. The miniatures blend perfectly with the existing range, and we find them particularly successful overall.

The only real concern regarding this kit is its price. With the Snarlboss on War-Wheela sitting at €80, there is a strong chance that the Liege-Kavalos will be priced similarly. On top of that, the fact that two Sunsteala Wheelas cost €76 makes such a high price difficult to justify. Fingers crossed that the Ossiarch kit will be a bit more affordable.

The Liege-Mortek is a foot character designed to support and enhance your infantry units. This kit offers three head and weapon options, allowing for a fair amount of customization. However, the pose is unfortunately a bit static, which slightly reduces the miniature’s visual impact.

As a result, we feel somewhat torn about this model: despite the quality of the sculpt, its posture lacks a bit of dynamism.

The Triax Morteks finally bring a ranged unit to the Ossiarch Bonereapers. Their single eye and overall design are genuinely appealing, and they fit perfectly within the army’s aesthetic.

The only drawback is their bow, which is quite bulky and, in our opinion, slightly disrupts the overall balance of the miniature’s silhouette.

The Mortis Reapers are truly excellent, with a look that somewhat recalls the Necron Flayed Ones. These miniatures are full of movement and dynamism, and we find them particularly successful.

The only minor drawback, in our view, is that this level of dynamism contrasts with the rest of the army, whose units tend to appear more static overall. This creates a slight visual contrast, but it does nothing to detract from the quality of these models.

This is certainly something to satisfy Ossiarch Bonereapers players. For our part, we are eagerly awaiting a revamp of the Morghasts as well as Arkhan the Black. While these miniatures are still very decent, they are starting to show their age, both in terms of sculpting detail and posing.

We’ll see what the future holds, but given that this release includes three units and two heroes, there’s a strong chance that the next wave for this army will be less substantial. Two Rumor Engines have been spotted for this army.

Disciples of Tzeentch

Here is a surprise release of the new edition of the Disciples of Tzeentch Battletome, and what can we say except that the accompanying miniature is simply stunning. The sculptors for this army are truly extremely talented, making almost no mistakes on the latest releases.

The Fatemaster reveals a slender, elongated silhouette with perfectly proportioned musculature, and is accompanied by a charming familiar perched on its shoulder. A definite 10/10 in our view!

Although this single miniature alone would have been more than enough, two terrain pieces of the same high quality have also been released. Moreover, they are immense, likely reaching nearly about 12 inches in height at a glance.

Even though they are mounted on bases, these terrain pieces have immediately sparked strong interest for creating themed tables, across various gaming systems.

Lumineth Realm-lords

Another unexpected Battletome is the return of the Lumineth Realm-lords, accompanied by a modular character. That said, the Lumineth have already set the bar with much more charismatic miniatures. This figure therefore comes across as rather ordinary within the army, even though it offers a certain degree of customization, which remains a welcome feature for players.

Before moving on to Blood Bowl, here is our conclusion for Age of Sigmar.
The releases so far are solid in terms of quantity, but they haven’t really sparked much excitement on our end, with the notable exception of the Tzeentch miniatures, which clearly stands out.

These releases are accompanied by Renowned Regiments and army boxes, which are appealing and should offer interesting discounts overall, both for new players and collectors.

We are now eagerly anticipating what Games Workshop has planned for the Fyreslayers, whom we hope will receive a full overhaul. Their units are starting to show their age, and the number of entries remains very limited.
Another strong expectation on our part concerns the Ogor Mawtribes, who also deserve a comprehensive update, especially since the most recent miniatures released for this army were absolutely stunning.

High Elf Team

While the release of the High Elf team came as no real surprise, we were genuinely impressed by its design. Blood Bowl teams have clearly gained in quality and finesse compared to the early V2 teams.

The artistic direction of this team really won us over: the iconic traits of the Old World High Elves are well represented. Their tall, slender build, combined with their shorts, gives them a certain elegance and undeniable style.

We fully approve of this team… even if, deep down, we all know that elves are notorious cheaters.
