Hello everyone,
In our frantic race to get everything painted by December 19th, we’ve just finished the Origami Warriors. We were quite puzzled about how to paint them, trying to mimic the look of paper can quickly lead to some strange results. So we went for a clean and minimalist approach, especially since the sculpts don’t always clearly show the paper folds.
These models definitely get people talking, for better or worse, and we don’t have a strong opinion either way. Some parts are really well done, while others detract from the miniature, particularly some unsculpted areas around the arms. In our view, the main flaw is the lack of finesse in certain pieces.
We hope we’ve done them justice. Once these 1,000 points are finished, we’ll have only four Origami Warriors left to paint. The unit is also quite interesting in-game, thanks to its rule that deals damage back to the opponent whenever it takes a wound.
