Hello everyone,
Here’s a small ongoing project centered around the Adeptus Mechanicus, and more specifically, the legendary Forge World of Mars. Originally, we wanted to include this army in our narrative campaign, so we began the project in preparation for that. In the end, we decided to continue working on it at a steady pace, with the goal of eventually having a fully playable army ready for our future battle reports.
SirJohnTheHo took charge of painting the army, paying special attention to capturing the Martian atmosphere. The miniatures were designed to look as though they were moving across the red deserts of Mars, thanks to carefully crafted bases, the use of pigments, and a palette of warm, dusty colors.
Today, we’re proud to present the first completed model from this army, our Tech-Priest Enginseer. A true priest of the Machine God, he perfectly embodies the spirit of the Cult Mechanicus, blending flesh and metal in an unsettling harmony.
This army will be built over quite a long period of time, because, as you’ll soon discover, it’s actually a double project.
In our next article, we’ll be sharing a provisional army list, put together while we wait for the arrival of Warhammer 40,000’s 11th edition. This list is by no means final; it’s mainly meant to serve as a guideline to help shape the project’s development and maintain overall coherence. At the same time, you’ll also see additional units gradually being added over time. The goal is to give ourselves more flexibility when building future lists, while also exploring different visual and tactical approaches within the Cult Mechanicus. So, see you very soon for the next step in this mechanical and Martian adventure!
