Yoroni Project : Starting a Conquest Army

Hello everyone,

Conquest is currently booming, thanks to its well-designed game mechanics and the ever-improving quality of its releases. I have to admit, I was quite skeptical at first, the sculpting style, poses, and proportions of the miniatures didn’t really appeal to me, so I kept my distance from the game for a while. It was actually HiigyTV (Warning! It’s French Youtube Channel) that convinced me to take a closer look, repeatedly praising the strengths of Conquest. For a time, I stayed on the sidelines, following the new releases and watching presentation videos… until the Yoroni appeared. And that was it, love at first sight! I completely fell for their limited-edition Kitsune model. At that moment, I knew it was time to take the plunge.

Overall, I really like the Yoroni range. Some of the creatures appeal to me less, but I’m sure that once the army is painted, they’ll blend in nicely and contribute to the overall visual harmony. So, I dove into the rules, made a few impulsive purchases (no regrets!), and even took part in a tournament, didn’t finish last, which is already a victory in my book! The conclusion is clear, Conquest is an accessible, dynamic, and truly excellent game. The next step? Building an army that’s both fun to play and visually satisfying.

I’ve set myself a rather ambitious goal: to finish building and painting 2,000 points of army by the end of the year, so I can finally play a full game with a completely painted force. This painting goal comes with another challenge, aiming to win a Best Army award at a potential tournament in early 2026. Time is ticking, especially since I also need to make progress on my Master of Grudges project… Needless to say, the coming weeks are going to be busy!

While I’m still fine-tuning my army list, I decided to start with a test miniature. I chose a Tengu Ayakashi, assuming that a ranged unit will definitely find a place in my future composition. Here’s a preview of the color scheme I’ve chosen for my upcoming army.

Given the tight schedule, you can expect to see a lot of Conquest content on the blog in the coming weeks!
