Steel and Tracks 3

Hello everyone,

After a long period of absence, we are pleased to present a brand-new Steel and Tracks article, this time focusing on the Space Marine Chapter of the Imperial Harbingers.

As the Thunderhawk illustration still requires a significant amount of work, we decided not to include it in this article in order to release it sooner. It will most likely receive its own dedicated article in the future.

Unlike our previous articles, which usually featured three armored vehicles, we chose this time to focus on only two, as we felt it was better to remain centered on a single Chapter and maintain overall consistency.

We fully created the Tarantula turret ourselves. However, for the Space Marine Repulsor, we reused an existing illustration. Although we reworked the artwork, you will probably notice the difference in style. This choice allowed us to publish the article more quickly while still achieving a result we are satisfied with.

We will probably create a fully redrawn version later for future articles in order to better harmonize all of the illustrations. Even so, we are very pleased with the final result and hope you will enjoy this article as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Twin Heavy Bolter Tarantula – Imperial Harbingers

This airborne Tarantula turret was deployed during the Second Tyrannic War to contain the countless Tyranid swarms of Hive Fleet Kraken.

This type of weapon platform was fielded in large numbers throughout the campaign in order to slow the enemy advance and allow Imperial forces to hold their positions while awaiting reinforcements on Ichar IV.

Although losses of this kind of equipment were extremely high, the massive use of these automated defense platforms undoubtedly helped spare the lives of many Space Marines of the Chapter.

Primaris Repulsor – Imperial Harbingers

This Imperial Harbingers Repulsor belongs to the Chapter’s Second Company. Deployed across numerous war zones during the Indomitus Crusade, this armored vehicle distinguished itself in many engagements against the enemies of the Imperium.

It was notably used by Aggressor Squad Sigmus during the Fourth Tyrannic War in the Bastior War Zone. Designed to rapidly transport Space Marines into the heart of battle while providing powerful fire support, the vehicle played a crucial role during the early stages of the offensive. Unfortunately, the Repulsor was eventually destroyed along with its entire squad in the midst of battle following the assault of a Hive Tyrant.

In our previous articles, we provided a few painting tips to help reproduce the color schemes used in our illustrations. This time, we are going even further by including a complete painting tutorial directly within the article. You will be able to discover step by step the techniques, colors, and methods used to achieve the final look of our Imperial Harbingers.
