Hello everyone,
With a bit of a delay, we are finally pleased to present our article dedicated to the Apostles of Contagion. As mentioned throughout the project, our love for the Siege of Vraks truly pushed us to commit to this very distinctive army.
At the time, Forge World produced an astronomical number of resin miniatures, allowing players to build alternative army lists through the Imperial Armour books. It is with great regret that we saw this range disappear, along with the long-awaited final volume pitting the T’au against the Adeptus Mechanicus, which ultimately remained only a prototype and was never released.
We were fortunate enough to acquire the complete range of Death Guard miniatures from that era, and we will be presenting them to you progressively. Today, we begin with Necrosius the Undying, the dark warlord who leads the Apostles of Contagion.

After assembling and painting several miniatures, it becomes clear how much Games Workshop models have gradually increased in size over the years. Although finely sculpted, this model shows its age and now appears a little undersized, despite the imposing presence of its banner.
To rebalance the miniature, we chose to increase the base size and add a suitably plump Nurgling, giving the model more volume and visual impact. This decision not only helps the character blend more naturally with the rest of the army, but also enhances its grotesque and corrupted appearance, true to the blessings of Nurgle.
As for the paint scheme, we remained faithful to the rest of the army. In particular, we added the Red Plague Fly, the emblematic symbol of this warband, to the banner, firmly asserting the identity of the Apostles of Contagion on the battlefield.
